Camp Tawonga
Camp Tawonga is a 176-acre residential Jewish summer camp nestled in the middle fork of the Tuolumne River, a few miles west of Yosemite National Park. The camp was first established in 1925 and has served campers that live primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area.
In the summer of 2013, the campground was affected by the Rim Fire, destroying adjacent forests and some of the buildings. The camp will also be 100 years old in 12 years. LMSA was retained to develop a Strategic and Master Plan to address immediate construction needs as a result of the fire as well as long term plans in anticipation of Camp Tawonga’s 100-year celebration.
